Winston learned a new game. It’s called “tug” or “drop it”. I put a toy (ball, rope, soft toy) within his reach, ask him to sit and wait. He must not grab for it. This strengthens his self control and my image as leader. When I decide, when he’s looking at me, I tell him to “take it”. He must take the toy gently and not grab/bite for it. He can play with it while I hold it, roughly if he wants! Then I say “Drop it” and he does! Then he has to sit and wait for the game to continue. The best part, Winston is bringing toys to me for play (not insistently) instead of growling me away from them. Way to grow Winston!
