When Sadie has free time in the house, she can follow me around as long as she’s not underfoot or in my space. Sometimes I don’t need her in the same room as me. This morning she’s hanging out while I’m in the kitchen. When I’m cooking, she has to WAIT outside of the kitchen. I tell her WAIT at the dishwasher and cabinet, and block her with my body. Then she is free to do anything except walk into the kitchen. This also creates a healthy relationship showing her it’s ok for us to be apart and teaches respect for people’s space.
