Tug is a great game/exercise to play with dogs that are mouthy/bitey. It teaches them to “take it” nicely and to let go THE 1ST time you say “DROP IT”. Barley must wait and not snatch the toy from my hands (ok knee!). Then I say “take it” and play begins! Rough and loud is ok as long as you approve of the energy level of the play. As soon as things start to get out of control, or just because you feel like it say “DROP IT” only one time! He must comply or the game is over. As soon as he drops it say “good”. No grabbing it back! He has to wait until you offer it again with a “take it” command. Everything is on your terms! Barley is very good at this game and it’s one he needed to learn. Good boy Barley!!
