Finley got lots of practice settling on this cold day. He has to learn to just relax during normal activities like kids walking by, me working on my laptop, meal times, watching TV, etc. In the beginning, I use a leash to tether him and a bone to keep him occupied (supervising him at all times). Then we practice with no leash and being out of sight. Pack leaders don’t need him to follow them around all day. Finley’s job is to simply stay put and look cute in his settle spot.
