Harlie and Henley are big puppies, but still puppies! Just like children, they can play so long that they make themselves irritable. So at appropriate times we put them down into a settle. After loads of play with others in the yard is a good time. After drills, breakfast and potty time is another good time. I call it their “off switch”, once I find it, I try to find the best time to use it. When they just come out of the crate and they are all full of energy, is not a good time. Get their energy out, they need to be tired, before asking them to settle. Set them up for success!
