Dogs in a pack understand the concept of waiting politely to eat. No one gets to jump ahead or steal from anyone else’s bowl. By being in charge of the food and mealtime, the dogs understand that I’m protecting and governing. There’s no need for anyone to guard their food because I’m already doing it. Sammi, Marvin, Cole, and Rudy know they’ll eat sooner because they’re being patient.
