Lanie is working on holding her commands from bigger distances. This helps build her confidence, showing her she is perfectly fine when I walk away. If she gets up, I walk right to her and put her back in the same spot, then continue what I’m doing. This also builds self control, making her focus more on holding the command instead of acting on impulses. Rudy joined us for our walk today. He was once a skittish border collie back in the day, but now he’s very laid back. If something startles Lanie on a walk, she looks at me and Rudy and sees everything’s fine. We just keep walking forward, looking ahead. Great work!
