We are building Jack’s focus around distractions. It is natural for German Shepherds to be alert and aware of their surroundings but they should be trained not to act on anything unless directed by their handler. This morning we walked by the school where we had people, kids, and lots of squirrels passing by. Jack could look but couldn’t lunge or bark. This is a hard mental activity for Jack so he was tuckered out once we got home! Just the kind of energy I want in the house!!
