Rosie does well with calm energy dogs who don’t get in her face, but it’s important to show her clear rules since she’s still learning. When Rudy came in the room, Rosie was alert and about to make the choice of whether she was going to protect. Before she got the chance, I gave her a quick “eh eh!” to tell her I got this. Then I had Rudy lie on the dog bed beside her. This is another good example of why she lies at the back of the room – I call the shots when anyone comes through the door so she doesn’t get to do it first. This helps her rest easy knowing she doesn’t have to worry.
