The very first thing dogs learn at Training Camp is to sit at thresholds. Whether coming or going, Huck is learning to hold his sit until he is invited through. This does several things – teaches him that you own all space, increases his self control by holding a sit for longer, prevents him from dashing out the door, and brings the energy level down no matter where you’re going or what room you’re entering. He picks up on things quickly, especially when he sees another dog doing it.
