Harley loves kids but gets excited meeting them and jumps. I put him in a sit beside and slightly behind me, pet his neck while holding his collar and had the boy approach calm and offer his hand for a sniff and pet under his chin. If Harley got up or excited I had the boy stop petting him and turn away immediately and only come back when Harley was sitting and calm again. That way he learns he only gets attention when he’s calm and polite. It wasn’t long till he was sitting politely and loving all the attention he got doing so. This lesson ended in belly rubs!!!
