Faolan is learning that the kitchen is off limits for dogs! A “wait” command at the opening of the kitchen tells him “not another paw forward”. He can go back into the other parts of the house but can’t follow me in. This can also be a good safety habit as there could be knives or hot pans falling in the kitchen. It also helps with separation anxiety. He doesn’t have to be right underfoot all the time!
