When I’m in the kitchen, it’s easier and safer just to have all the dogs wait in the living room rather than have them under foot. I calmly back Harper, Barney, Daisy, Maya, Rudy, and Nolie away with my body, using my legs to block them from passing through the the threshold. They know as soon as one dog steps close I’m going to come right back and move them away, so they’ve all figured out they can just wait on the other side.
