p dir=”ltr”>The next challenge for Enzo is to be brave enough to hold his commands with distance (~20′) between us. I warmed up by doing the exercises that we normally do at 5-6′ apart, I used the long line to add maybe 10′ of distance today. OK, that unnerved him a little but I calmly kept putting him back in his sit until it wasn’t so scary to have me 10′ away. Then we moved into some more drills with the long line and I added up to 20′ of distance after putting him back several times. The good news is that when he got up out of his sit before I called him, he was moving towards me! Also note the picture taken from 20′ BEHIND him! That is the hardest spot for a dog to hold a sit, a dog really has to TRUST that its leader will not leave them. Great job Enzo!
