Ellies’ papa asked me to work on her leash manners. We walk circles until she’s on track and then we head out. Ellie is learning that we get farther, see more new stuff, if she walks calmly next to me and doesn’t pull. The more she pulls, the longer it takes because we have to stop and fix her position. Patience and calm is key here. She must know that you are in charge and you are not going anywhere until she’s next to you. Not in front. She’s a smart girl who gets it!
