I’m playing a game of “tug” or “drop” with Vinny. He can be very oral about toys during play time, so a good game of “drop it” reminds him whose toy it REALLY is. Mine! So I show him the toy, but he can’t have it yet. He must sit and look deeply into my eyes before I tell him he can “take it”. When he does take it nicely, I play hard with him. Keeping a hold of the toy, I pull him side to side in play mode. When I say “drop it!” he must do so immediately and sit down to wait for me to tell him to “take it” again. Play resumes again. This is a great game for dogs with grabby mouths. Vinny and I did this for about 15 mins and then I put the toy up and away. Play time is over. Good boy Vinny!
