Not the roll on your back, pet my belly kind of DOWN Miss Cookie! I’m not giving her attention/affection. I just want a plain, calm DOWN where ever I say, and for Cookie to hold this command until released. Just like SIT, I should be able to move and walk around without her getting up. If she does, I simply put her back without repeating the command and try again. Be “matter of fact” about it. Obedience is never an option 🙂
