p dir=”ltr”>Blue is having a time learning to "settle". She’s a young energetic girl and this request seems to run contrary to her nature. I make sure she’s good and tired from the days activity before I begin. When she’s older, she will be able to do this at anytime. For now I stay patient, give her a toy/chew to occupy her active mouth and this is what we did last night. I tell her only once to "settle". She knows that means to lay down where I point. If (when!) she begins to get up, I just put her back with a quick verbal "eh,eh", or step on the leash so I can remain tall. The key is to stay patient and consistent. She fell asleep eventually!
